Today (27 March 2025), Mr. Chaiwat Limlikit-aksorn, former director of the National Park Office, Department of National Parks, Wildlife and Plant Conservation, revealed that the problem of corruption in revenue collection in national park areas has been around for a long time, especially in Grade A parks on the Andaman coast.
There are many forms of this, such as tearing up fake tickets that do not correspond to the number of tourists visiting the island, and collecting a fixed income from some tour operators, sharing the difference in the price per tourist between the operators and the national park, the owner of the area.
